Xenogears – Walkthrough Checklist

The Mermaid Tear and RPS Badge are unique trade items with no second chance. The RPS Badge is only available until you meet Citan at his mountaintop house.

Go upstairs and try to leave the chieftain's house. Dan wants to talk; meet him near the town tavern. Your answer to him does not matter.

Enter Alice's house and talk to her upstairs. She needs Doctor Uzuki's camera equipment for the coming day.

In the bar, talk to the sulky man to receive the Mermaid Tear.

"Drinking won't help matters"

Traded much later at the Snowfield Hideout, after Emeralda becomes an adult, for the Mermaid Ring (Emeralda only).

In the southeast house, beat the man at Rock-Paper-Scissors 5 times in a row, without leaving the house or losing, to win the RPS Badge.

One of three badges. Trade all three to the old Chu-Chu in Shevat for a Charger A and a Power Ring S.

Leave town via the exit to the Mountain Path.

Near the northern exit, shake the tree west of the exit signpost to get the Spider.

Give it to Chu-Chu during Road to Nisan for an Etherveiler.

Follow the path to Citan's House. One of the two jump spots is mandatory: one takes a standing jump, the other a running jump. The NPC in the area explains how.

Talk to Yui inside the house to learn Citan is working in the backyard shed.

Go back down the slope and take the Bird Egg from the tree on the small ledge northwest of the Mountain Path save point.

Timing matters: take it any sooner and the egg gets cooked; any later and it disappears. The mother bird deals 1 damage every few seconds until you return to Citan's House.

Jump behind the house's external flowerbed to find Midori's Ring.

Trade it to Midori in the final chapter (First and Last) for a HerculesRing, which gives 50 more EXP during battle.

Enter the building behind the main house to find Citan repairing a "Land Crab." He asks Fei to inspect the music box he restored inside; a few scenes follow.

After dinner, return to Lahan via the Mountain Path.

Save at the save point at the mountain base before continuing.

Watch the scenes, then defeat the two Musha Mk100s.

Head for the nearby woods (Blackmoon Forest).

Start learning Deathblows now. Raijin (Triangle, X) is Fei's first and easiest; Senretsu (Triangle, Triangle, X) may be close if you have been training. Check learning progress under Status on the main menu.
